Vault Gas Monitor - Model 2400
The Model 2400 is widely used by telephone
companies to continuously monitor for both Combustible Gas (Methane)
and Carbon Monoxide in utility vaults, to reduce the hazard of gas
explosion and to maintain personnel safety. The Model 2400 offers full
performance features including uninterrupted power supply, long-life
sensors, five alarm relays, and both audible and visual alarm indication.
The Model 2400-01 includes a semiconductor-type CO sensor with an alarm range of 50-200 PPM, the Model 2400-21 Monitor includes a low range electrochemical CO gas sensor with an alarm range of 25-100 PPM to meet current OSHA and NIOSH safety recommendations.
The Model 2400 includes five alarm relays:
Failure Relay - activates when either sensor becomes defective or if both AC power and battery backup fail
Carbon Monoxide Relay - activated when Carbon Monoxide concentration exceeds alarm limit
Combustible Gas Relay - activated when Combustible gas concentrations exceeds alarm limit
Ventilation Relay - activated when either the CO or Methane gas concentration exceeds alarm limits
Remote Indicator Relay - used to interface with Remote Indicator box and activates when Failure or Ventilation relays are on
