UV/IR/Vis Industrial Flame Detector 3100

Sierra Monitor’s 3100 Series flame detector monitors for hydrocarbon or non-hydrocarbon based industrial flames indoors or outdoors.

The 3100 Series flame detector utilizes a tri-spectra design (ultraviolet, infrared, and visible light spectrums) to provide continuous and reliable flame detection. Flame detectors incorporating just infrared or UV can experience false alarms from external sources not related to fire. With the tri-spectra design, the 3100 provides enhanced false alarm rejection.

The 3100 Series’ tri-spectra design provides the ability to detect flames from both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon sources, making it the ideal product for a typical chemical/petrochemical plant where the flame source could be generated from a variety of gases. In addition, the 3100 is the only flame detector model that provides RS-232 access to pre-fire spectral data and diagnostic information. Self-diagnostic features of the microprocessor continuously perform system tests, watching for any faults which would impair its ability to accurately detect a flame and declare an alarm. All faults are recorded in non-volatile memory and may be retrieved at any time by an operator.

The UV/IR/Vis Industrial Flame Detector 3100 is approved and certified by a variety of third party agencies, including FM and CSFM. These approvals and certifications assure our customers that we carry only the highest quality of products and performance.

UV/IR/Vis Industrial Flame Detector 3100

  • Self-Diagnostics – Continuously perform system tests to watch for any faults
  • 120-Degree Solid Cone Field of View – Scan across a facility with a wide scope and reduce the need for additional flame detectors
  • State-of-the-Art Fire Algorithms – Analyze data from the system array for individual intensity values, change of intensity values, relationship of intensity values, and frequency signature correlation
  • Tri-Spectra Design – Detect both hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon flames and reject false alarms
  • Through-The Lens Test – Continuous test performed to validate a clean lens for proper function
  • Microprocessor Decision-Making – Store pre-fire spectral data in non-volatile memory and outputs an alarm signal in the form of a relay transition
  • Enhanced Relay Models – Include a second alarm relay for alarm verification purposes (optional)
