Sample Draw Products

Sample draw gas detection systemSample draw products are used in applications in which the sensor cannot be installed directly at the gas sensing location due to poor accessibility or the harshness of the environment. Using a sample draw product a sample is continuously drawn from the sensing location to the sensor at a more suitable location.

Sierra Monitor offers both integral sample pump-based sample draw panels and low cost sample draw assemblies utilizing an air aspirated venturi manifold to draw the sample.

Pump-based Gas Sample Draw Panels

Sierra Monitor offers both a Single-Channel Gas Sample Draw Panel (5398-21) and a Four-Channel Sample Draw Panel (5398-24). The integral sample pump draws the sample at a high flow rate to reduce sample time. The sample is delivered to the sensor up-stream from the pump to avoid negative pressure conditions. A bypass line exhausts excess sample volume to avoid high flow rates across the sensor. Each panel is a self-contained system with the pump, flow indication, valves to control sample draw and calibration gas delivery, and the gas detection sensor and transmitter (priced separately) all housed in an enclosure. The flow systems design will deliver the sample to the sensor with minimal pressure affecting the sensor as the excess flow and pressure are bled off via the bypass flowmeter.

The Sample Draw Panels are intended for installation in an area which is accessible by the user for periodic routine inspection and calibration. The panel requires 120 VAC input and provides local visual as well as remote indication of pump and flow status.

The Air-Aspirated Sample Draw Assemblies have a venturi manifold that uses a continuous flow of driver air to pull a slight vacuum through the sample supply line drawing the sample into the manifold cavity connected to the sensor.
