ProtoCessor FFP

ProtoCessors are a family of low-cost TTL to RS-485, Ethernet, and LonWorks embedded coprocessor modules that enable original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to connect to the cloud and rapidly implement various industrial, building, and machine automation protocols in their products.

OEMs can enjoy the benefits of the cloud connectivity through FieldPoP™. The ProtoCessor ASP is FieldPoP-enabled, meaning all ProtoCessors can be registered to FieldPoP, Sierra Monitor’s device cloud for the IIoT. The FieldPoP web interface lets users remotely access, in a secure fashion, the FS-GUI and custom web applications that are available locally on the ProtoCessor. These applications offer functionality for configuration, monitoring, logging, security, diagnostics, and updates.

The ProtoCessor FFP (Full Function ProtoCessor) provides OEMs the ability to fully configure the OEM IIoT gateway module to meet specific product, customer, or application needs, yet still utilize the same socket and hardware of an OEM electronics board. The manufacturer downloads the new configuration via a downloadable file or host PC.

The ProtoCessor FFP OEM IIoT gateway includes a variety of features that results in greater flexibility for the OEM, making it an ideal solution for lower volume applications where the OEM needs to make more modifications to specific products or product groups. With the FieldServer driver library of over 140 protocols, the ProtoCessor FFP can be used to connect the OEM's device to a variety of networks using common protocols such as BACnet/IP, Modbus RTU, and LonWorks.     • Up to a maximum of 1000 Modbus registers can be included in a configuration file
