Before embarking on a journey of IIoT integration, an OEM must determine the precise business opportunities they want to achieve through the IIoT—whether that means improving service and support, knowing more precisely where all its connected devices are located and what they're actually doing, or gaining the insights that will lead to better products. With our IIoT On-Ramp Suite, we can make it simple rather than daunting to get there.
In the white paper titled Transforming Industrial Devices into Smart, Cloud-Connected Devices, we outline the following four simple steps for leveraging the IIoT On-Ramp Suite to guide OEMs along the pathway toward a smart and cloud-connected IIoT environment:
  1. Get the OEM field devices on an IP network with a gateway.
  2. Make the gateway smarter.
  3. Extend beyond the field; bridge the field to the cloud.
  4. Connect the device cloud to your business applications.
In addition to learning about our 1-2-3-4 step approach, the white paper also highlights the important distinctions between consumer and industrial IoT environments, what the consumer IoT can ultimately teach the IIoT, and the benefits of smart, cloud-connected IIoT devices.

Upcoming Webinar: How to Gain Complete Visibility Over Your Devices
Webinar image When: Wednesday, August 17, 2016 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM PDT
What: Have you ever installed your device into a facility and lost all visibility over it? Or, have you wondered what kind of data is sitting within your device that could help you provide better service and support to your customer? With the FieldPoP™ device cloud, users can securely register a fleet of deployed gateways and routers to remotely access local applications; manage their devices, user credentials, and cloud-based notifications; and integrate with preferred visualization and analytics cloud platforms.
SMC Product Manager Richard Theron will take you through an in-depth look of the FieldPoP interface to show how one can achieve complete visibility over their devices for the ultimate service and support capabilities.

Product Announcement: Secure Remote Access with FieldServer
FieldPoP-FieldServer OEMs are not the only ones that can enjoy access to our FieldPoP device cloud. Now, integrators have secure remote access into the FSGUI, the resident diagnostics tool on all FieldServer gateways, and data available in the cloud. Integrators and facility managers can connect to all FieldServer gateways, manage user permissions, and receive cloud-based notifications from the FieldPoP web interface.

Featured Application: Simplifying SNMP Integration in Data Centers
In addition to translating protocols to the common SNMP protocol found in data center applications, a gateway with the ability to represent devices as a unique SNMP management information base (MIB) to the SNMP-based management system is more valuable than the gateway acting as a single proxy for all of the devices.
We have taken the DeviceProxy feature from our well established BACnet driver and added it to our SNMP driver, granting the integrator granular visibility and control over each device from a SNMP management system.
